US drops 'cyber bombs' on ISIS for the first time
The US is taking its battle with Islamic
State terrorists online, the New York
Times reports.
The US is targeting ISIS with cyber
attacks.
The US has reportedly introduced a new tactic in
its war against Islamic State.
The Department of Defense's Cyber Command
unit is mounting cyber attacks against the
terrorist organisation, the New York Times
reported Sunday.
The cybercampaign is the latest in a range of
military missions being conducted by the US
against ISIS. Its aim is to stop the organisation
from spreading its message, recruiting new
members and circulating orders online.
Cyber Command has placed implants within
ISIS's networks in order to study the behavior of
members, with the eventual aim of mimicking
them to alter their messages and redirect
militants in a way that will leave them exposed
to US ground or drone operations.
These cyber attacks mark a new approach for
the US, and have not been widely discussed --
with a few exceptions.
"We are dropping cyber bombs," Deputy
Secretary of Defense Robert Work told CNN
earlier this month . "We have never done that
before."
Cyber Command did not immediately respond to
a request for comment and Department of
Defense could not be reached.

GE Started Testing The World’s Largest Jet Engine
How large is the world’s largest jet
engine? So large that Shaquille O’Neil
would fit inside it with Kobe Bryant
sitting on his shoulders. Engineers at
GE Aviation just assembled the first of
these engines and put it on a test stand
at the company’s massive boot camp
for jet engines located in the woods
near Peebles, Ohio.
It’s a giant.
The brand new GE9X is a winner in
several disciplines. Its front fan spans
a full 11 feet in diameter (3.35
meters), a world record. The engine
also has 3D printed fuel nozzles and
the most extensive use of parts made
from lightweight and ultra heat-
resistant materials called ceramic
matrix composites (CMCs).
Top and above: Meet the GE9X. When
Boeing decided to build the 777X jet,
the next-generation version of the 777
jet, it asked GE to develop an engine to
power it. Image credit: GE Aviation
Additive manufacturing , popularly
known as 3D printing, essentially
grows parts from the ground up and
allows engineers to design complex
internal shapes that were previously
impossible to achieve. “These tunnels
and caves are a closely guarded
secret,” says GE Aviation spokesman
Rick Kennedy. “They determine how
the fuel moves through the nozzle and
sprays inside the combustion
chamber.”
CMCs operate in temperatures as high
as 2,400 degrees Fahrenheit. The
material is inside the combustor and
the turbine. It allowed engineers to
keep the heat higher inside the engine
while reducing fuel burn and
emissions. “The hotter the engine
runs, the more efficient it is,” Kennedy
says.
The engine also includes 16 fourth-
generation carbon-fiber fan blades at
the front of the engine that feed air
into an 11-stage high-pressure
compressor with a 27:1 pressure ratio,
which also boosts the engine’s
efficiency. No other commercial
engine in service has a pressure ratio
that’s higher.
Although this is the first time the
company fired up the whole engine,
it’s been testing individual
components and systems for four
years. “Due to the significant amount
of new technologies in the GE9X, we
planned the testing program
differently,” says GE9X program
leader Chuck Jackson. “The early
testing informed the design and
manufacturing and allowed us to
freeze the product definition and test
the total engine as soon as possible.”
The GE9X was designed to generate
100,000 pounds of thrust. (One space
shuttle main engine produces 375,000
pounds.) While that may seem like a
lot, the world record belongs to the
engine’s predecessor, the GE90-115B,
which generated 127,500 pounds of
thrust.
When Boeing decided to build the
777X jet, the next-generation version
of the 777 jet, it asked GE to develop
an engine to power it. GE Aviation,
which is the exclusive engine maker
for the 777X, has received orders for
more than 700 GE9X engines valued at
$29 billion (list price) from airlines
including Emirates, Lufthansa, Etihad
Airways, Qatar Airways and Cathay
Pacific.
GE has been testing the new design for
the GE9X carbon fiber blades on a
scaled-down testing rig at Boeing.
GE Aviation invested $10 million to
prepare its Peebles Testing Operation
for the GE9X. Some of the money paid
for the largest “bellmouth inlet duct,”
the white funnel attached to the front
of the engine during testing. It
measures 18 feet in diameter and 12
feet in length.
Engineers also installed a fourth fuel
tank to keep the engine well fed,
fortified the bunker-like test stand to
secure the engine and added new
material to the testing stand air
systems to withstand the high
temperatures. “We also upgraded our
engine hoists and transporters to
handle the GE9X and modified a wall
in our prep building so the engine can
be moved after final assembly to make
its way to the test stand,” said Brian
DeBruin, plant manager for GE
Aviation’s Peebles Test Operation.
GE Aviation started testing the first
GE9X in March and will continue for
several months in order to verify
aerodynamic, thermal and mechanical
characteristics of the engine. The
company will start testing the second
GE9X next year. The engine is
scheduled to enter service by the end
of the decade.
By the way, GE also built the first U.S.
jet engine in 1942. You can watch that
story here .
The GE90 blade (above) made its way to
New York’s Museum of Modern Art.
Where the GE90 has 22 fan blades, the
GE9X will have just 16 blades made
from 4th-generation carbon fiber
composite. Image credit: GE Aviation

I Considered Suicide After Assaulting Rihanna – Chris Brown.
Chris Brown says he considered
suicide after assaulting then
girlfriend Rihanna before the
Grammys in 2009 according to
BBC.
In a trailer for his new
documentary Welcome To My
Life, the R&B singer says their
relationship was "like a fantasy"
but he felt like a 'monster'
afterwards.
"I went from being on top of the
world, number one songs and
kind of being like America's
sweetheart to being public
enemy number one," he says.
Chris Brown was sentenced to
five years of probation following
the assault.
It ended last year after a judge
said the star had completed all
his requirements and officially
closed the case.
He said: ”I felt like a f***ing
monster. ”I was thinking about
suicide and everything else. I
wasn’t sleeping, I wasn’t eating.
I just was getting high.”
And the 26-year-old star’s
mother, Joyce Hawkins, admitted
the incident marked the ”worst
day” of her life. In a trailer for
Chris’ upcoming documentary
‘Welcome to My Life’, she said:
”That was the worst day of my
life and probably his life. ”I felt
like I was going to lose my
child.”
As the trailer draws to a close,
he said: ”If there was ever a
doubt in your mind that Chris
Brown was done, he was
finished? I wouldn’t bet on it.” A
release date has yet to be set for
the documentary, which features
contributions from the likes of
Jamie Foxx, Usher, Jennifer
Lopez and Mary J. Blige.

The Flash Movie May Feature These 5 Supporting Characters
While The Flash TV series continues on The CW,
the DC Extended Universe is making strides
towards seeing up their own version of the Scarlet
Speedster. Moviegoers got their first taste of Ezra
Miller’s Barry Allen in Batman v Superman: Dawn
of Justice, and he’ll team up with his fellow DC
heroes in Justice League: Part One next year.
Following that, he’ll lead his own movie, and now
we may know who will make up his supporting
cast.
With casting reportedly underway on The Flash,
Heroic Hollywood has apparently obtained a
breakdown of the information that’s been sent to
talent agencies regarding the five main supporting
roles. It remains to be confirmed whether these
characters will actually appear in the movie or if
this breakdown refers simply to "types," but given
Flash’s mythology, seeing these folks appear
wouldn’t be the least bit surprising.
First up, we have Iris West, Barry Allen’s main
love interest. Just like her comic book
counterpart, The Flash’s Iris is a reporter for the
Central City Citizen, and she’s described as
having "Christiane Amanpour’s brains and Carrie
Bradshaw’s style." The article also mentions that
Iris is the only supporting character who’s
currently being tested for, so unlike the other
characters, it’s basically guaranteed she’ll be in
the movie .
Next, we have Eobard Thawne, better known as
the Reverse-Flash and Professor Zoom, Barry
Allen’s greatest speedster enemy. His movie
version is described as the "smartest man in the
room," earning him the nickname "Central City’s
Bill Gates." He also suffers from an advanced
degenerative disease, which has left him confined
to a wheelchair. For those of you who watch the
Flash TV show , this sounds similar to Eobard
Thawne in Season 1 when he was disguised as
Harrison Wells, though that was just a facade.
Don’t be surprised if this version is also pulling a
fast one (no pun intended).
The third character is Fred Chyre, who in the
comics was a Keystone City police officer who
worked with the Wally West Flash. In The Flash
movie, he’s a "gruff" detective who meets Barry
Allen at a crime scene. Now they’re colleagues
and the "closest thing Barry has to a friend." He’ll
be investigating an unusual death at Thawne
Laboratories.
Fourth is Leonard Snart, better known as Captain
Cold. An ex-military man, he’ll be working for
Eobard Thane in The Flash movie. The piece
speculates he’ll be the muscle, similar to Callan
Mulvey’s Anatoli Knyazev in Batman v Superman:
Dawn of Justice. Considering that Captain Cold
has been one of Flash’s biggest enemies for
decades, this feels like a major demotion.
Finally, we have Jay Garrick , the Golden Age
Flash who was debuted in the comics 16 years
before Barry Allen. In the movie, he is a former
Central City professor who was fired for "fringe
science," specifically working on the Speed Force
program. He’s only set for a cameo, so don’t
expect him to start speeding around with that
trademark helmet.
We’ll have to wait until Warner Bros or DC
provides information either confirming or denying
these characters, but for now, this sounds like an
interesting cast, albeit with some DCEU twists
and similarities to the TV show. The Flash races
into theaters on March 16, 2018.

ALIEN 5 WILL BE WORTH THE WAIT, ACCORDING TO SIGOURNEY WEAVER
Alien 5 Will Be Worth The Wait,
According To Sigourney Weaver.
Alien 5 is definitely happening at some point in
the future. At least that’s what everyone involved
with it keeps saying as it gets delayed further and
further. To be written and directed by Neil
Blomkamp , the film is supposed to be a return to
form for the Alien franchise and will focus once
again on Sigourney Weaver’s infamous Ripley.
While the film was supposed to arrive in 2017, it
got delayed so that Ridley Scott’s Prometheus
sequel, Alien: Covenant would go first. We haven’t
heard many details on the progress of the movie
in a while, but Sigourney Weaver says that, slowly
but surely, it’s still coming.
Talking with Indiewire, Sigourney Weaver was able
to divulge some information on the film. Asked
about the progress on the film and if it were still
in development, Weaver had this to say:
Well, I think it is. Ridley asked Neill not to make
our Alien 'til after Prometheus 2. [Ridley] wanted
his movie to shoot and be released first. But it’s
an amazing script, and Neill and I are really
excited about doing it. We’re doing other things
until we can get going on that. I’d be really
surprised if we didn't do it, because it’s such a
great script, and we love working together. So,
it’s just going to take a little bit longer to get out
to you, but it’ll be worth the wait.
The take away from this is that, yes, it’s coming,
and it’ll be better than Alien: Resurrection. It was
previously rumored that Alien 5 would be more of
a direct sequel to Aliens , while mostly ignoring
the other sequels (kind of like what Jurassic
World did). While an actor claming that a movie
they’re in will be good isn’t exactly a promise of
quality, I’m ready for a new Alien film. It seems
only right with Predator getting a new film, that
the other big alien monster from the eighties
should get a comeback as well.
It’s still unclear exactly what Alien: Covenant is
about, but it seems that there will be a
connection to Neil Blomkamp's Alien 5, with the
Prometheus sequel serving as a sort of lead-in.
While most likely no one is more excited to see a
Prometheus sequel before an actual Alien movie,
the title indicates that it will try to provide less
giant blue people and more face huggers.
Are you excited for more Alien movies, even if one
of them is about Prometheus ? Sound off in the
comments section.
THE GREEN LANTERN CORPS MOVIE MAY HAVE 3 GREEN LANTERNS, HERE'S WHAT WE KNOW
When Ryan Reynolds starred as Hal Jordan in
2011’s Green Lantern it was supposed to be the
start of a new DC cinematic universe.
Unfortunately, for Warner Brothers, and Ryan
Reynolds' ego, the movie did not do very well.
The second attempt to launch DC’s extended
universe appears to have taken hold, however,
and while several films are part of that plan,
Green Lantern has been pushed to the back of the
line. However, it appears that when the Green
Lantern Corps finally does make their return to
the screen, it will be with a vengeance, and
possibly no fewer than three different Green
Lanterns.
While most of the new Justice League made at
least cameo appearances in Batman v Superman:
Dawn of Justice the one character that was
noticeable by his absence was Green Lantern. As
the character has been a core member of the
Justice League throughout its various
incarnations, most have believed that at least one
version of the character, either the best known
Hal Jordan, or possibly John Stewart, known as
the version used in the Justice League animated
series, would be cast soon. However, according
to Latino Review , when they went digging for
details on which version we would see, what they
learned was that current plans for 2020’s Green
Lantern Corps film don’t only include the Jordan
and Stewart characters, but also a third Lantern
from the comics: Kyle Rayner.
In the comics, Kyle Rayner is the young man who
replaces Hal Jordan as Green Lantern when the
traditional hero goes bad, in what is still one of
the most controversial comic book stories ever
written. It appears that in the cinematic version
the two may be existing concurrently. Apparently,
the plan is for Hal Jordan to play an older
Lantern, in the age range of somebody like Matt
Damon , while John Stewart and Kyle Rayner
would both be younger characters.
A number of actors have very publicly been
throwing their hat in the ring to try and get a shot
at Green Lantern. Most publicly Tyrese Gibson
has made it clear he wants the job. As recently as
a month ago the actor said he’d been in touch
with Warner Brothers about the role, though no
decision had apparently been made. In addition,
Chris Pine was rumored to be up for the role of
Hal Jordan, before he eventually chose the part of
Steve Trevor in the Wonder Woman movie
instead. Though that was apparently never the
case. Now, there’s a third major Green Lantern
that some actor can go after.
We’re still working on the assumption that we’ll
be introduced to at least one Green Lantern at
some point during the Justice League films.
Although, now there’s an entirely new candidate
for which one we might meet first.
But that also means we can speculate even more
about who might be cast. Who would you like to
see play Kyle Rayner in the DCEU? Sound off in
the comments below.

iTunes and iBooks are now unaccessible after
apparently being blocked by parts of the Chinese
government.
The New York Times reported Thursday
that Apple's online movie and book stores
initially received government approval but were
blocked last week on orders from the
broadcasting regulator, the State Administration
of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television.
Apple said in a statement emailed Friday that it
hoped the services could resume "as soon as
possible," but offered no details about the
shutdown.
The broadcasting regulator has been stretching
its authority to online content, which is also
regulated by other government agencies and
ministries. Calls to the administration's media

Boko Haram now strap bombs on birds to carry out suicide attacks- Army
The general officer commanding (GOC), 7 division
of the Nigerian army, Maiduguri, Lamidi Adeosun,
says Boko Haram members have resorted to
using birds to carry out their suicide attacks.
Lamidi said this while speaking to American
diplomats and security officials at the
headquarters of the multinational joint task force
MNJTF in Chad on Wednesday April 20th.
According to Independent UK, Lamidi said;
“One picture showed a bird with an
explosive strapped on its back,
demonstrating a lot of ingenuity,”.
Lamidi also disclosed that his unit had received
intelligence that ISIS members were being
embedded into Boko Haram but that the Nigerian
sect had not satisfied requirements for greater
operational co-ordination.
Apple's Recycling Initiatives Recover $40 Million in Gold
Apple released its latest annual environmental
report yesterday, and some of the numbers
included reveal just how much the company is
able to recover from old devices.
Business Insider notes that Apple was able to
recover over 61 million pounds of steel, aluminum,
glass, and other materials from its computers and
iPhones. Included in that total is 2,204 pounds of
gold, which is well over a ton.
The gold haul alone is worth $40 million at
current prices ($1,229.80 per troy ounce of gold),
while the total amount of material recovered is
reportedly worth well over $50 million.
Cult of Mac ran the figures quoted by Apple
through today's metal prices, and came up with
individual figures for copper ($6.4 million),
aluminum ($3.2 million), silver ($1.6 million),
nickel ($160,426), zinc ($109,503), and lead
($33,999).
Apple says in total it collected almost 90 million
pounds of ewaste through its recycling programs,
which works out as 71 percent of the total weight
of the products the company sold seven years
earlier.
Apple made much of its efforts to reduce waste at
its media event last month. The company also
unveiled a robotic system it has developed called
'Liam' that can disassemble old iPhones and
recover recyclable materials.
The company said that Liam will initially focus on
recycling junked iPhone 6 handsets, but Apple
plans to modify and expand the system to
deconstruct different models and recover more
resources.
Neuroscience Made Fun!
Did you know that you are full of
electricity, buzzing through the vast maze
of nerves in your body?
In fact, those connections are so powerful
and understandable that they can be
made to stimulate movement in someone
else’s body!
We’ll have some fun in today’s EWC
article bringing you to the edges of what
we are learning about the electrical
connections of the brain to our bodies.
There is a company called Backyard
Brains that has created a website ready
to bring us all up to speed on our own
bodies, with a lot of fun. More about that
in a few minutes.
To start with, today’s video is a bit of a
“jaw-dropper” in many ways.
Greg Gage a neuroscientist and co-
founder of Backyard Brains has developed
the technology that allows the brain
function of one person to control the
motor functions of another.

Take to the Sky: Your OWN rideable drone!
As you know, drone technology is
sweeping the nation and globe. As with
most technologies like global positioning
satellites (GPS) and mobile phones, what
was once a military application has
become something for everyone.
Soon, orders placed on Amazon.com will
be delivered via Amazon drones , “delivery
in 30 minutes or less” will take on a
whole new meaning as you get Dominoes
pizza delivered via aerial drone , and
EWC’s own Christopher has a mini remote
controlled drone he was given as a gift
that cost around $50 (and is super cool,
by the way!).
So it should come as little surprise that
one family of entrepreneurs has taken the
idea of drone technology to the next level:
mobility, and a possible future of travel
for everyone!
Take a look at the Hoverbike, something
we love for its great intentions and which
might just be the next big idea.
Teenager Changing the World for Many.
At age 14, Easton LaChappelle met a 7-year-old girl who had a prosthetic arm.
The limb could only open and close, and
yet it cost $80,000. He thought he could
do better, and do it for under $1,000. He
set to work in his bedroom and then the
family garage.
In less than 3 years, he was making a
prototype limb for under $500 that was
actually interfacing with the nervous
system of its owner.
What’s more, he is only doing this to
make the world a better place! He could
have made millions on his discoveries
thus far, but instead, he releases all his
intellectual property to the world by
making them open sourced!
At age 19 he founded Unlimited

Self-Driving Cars: Where Are We At?
Some inventions from science fiction
movies are now a reality, with
improvements!
But what about self-driving cars?

The cell phones we carry in this age are
far more powerful than Star Trek’s
communicators. Our computers are
talking to us with far more acuity than
HAL from the first real sci-fi movie, 2001
a Space Odyssey . And we can Skype with
our friends halfway around the
world….even further than Jane Jetson!
Will Hollywood’s self-driving cars turn out
even better than we could have imagined?
After doing the research for this article, I
have to think so. Take a look at the
latest, most credible, video-shares I could
find on this foreseeable innovation.
(I should mention that there are countless
self-driving car videos on the web, but
most are made by companies I can’t
verify as credible, or too old to be
relevant; so in terms of your time spent
here today, I’m confident I found the best
information for us.)
The following four videos will bring you up
to speed (pun intended) on the future of
self-driving cars.
First up, a great overview from March 17,
2015, from Protin Pictures done for TIME
Magazine:
Via: Protin Pictures
So the safety issues with self-driving cars
seem to be the major driver behind the
relatively slow nature of this innovation.
(Another pun. I couldn’t help
myself.) However, I wonder if the slow
process is, in fact, the biggest positive of
this invention. I, personally, know many
people who await the self-driving car for
the “advantage” of more time on their cell
phone.
While some already are taking that liberty
(yikes!), I’m not sure that’s what the
earliest thought leaders were aiming for
with self-driving cars. Most imagined a
safer roadway, and more time to actually
connect with each other as passengers.
Take a look at this next piece with Chris
Urmson, the director of Google’s Self-
Driving Cars Project, explaining the
program’s future possibilities:

OK… now that we know the history,
motivation and possible contributions of
the self-driving car, how does it actually
work?
NSCDC arrests 6 alleged illegal miners
It stated that the suspects were arrested at
Okpanam village, near Asaba, by the Solid
Mineral Defence unit of the command.
The Delta Command of the Nigeria Security and
Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Friday said that
it had arrested six illegal miners in the state.
This is contained in a statement signed by Mrs
Beatrice Irabor , the state commandant, in
Asaba.
It stated that the suspects were arrested at
Okpanam village, near Asaba, by the Solid
Mineral Defence unit of the command.
The statement stated that the suspects had two
shovels, five sledge hammers, two motorcycles

It said that the arrest was part of the activities
of the command to stop illegal mining, and to as
serve as a deterrent to other illegal miners in the state.
Boko Haram Soldiers kill 27 terrorists, arrest 1 in Borno operations
This was disclosed by army spokesperson,
Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman via a statement
released today, April 22, 2016.
Soldiers of the Nigerian Army have killed
27 terrorists » during anti-Boko Haram
operations in Borno State.
This was disclosed by army spokesperson,
Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman via a statement
released today, April 22, 2016.
It reads:
In continuation of clearance operations of the
remnants of Boko Haram terrorists, troops of 7
Division in Operation Lafiya Dole have been
making tremendous progress in their various
areas of operational responsibilities.
They were able to carry out clearance
operations, raids and patrols that resulted in the
killing of so many suspected Boko Haram
terrorists, arrests and rescue of persons, as well
as recovery of arms and ammunitions.
On Thursday, 21st April 2016, troops of 21
Brigade Nigerian Army carried out clearance
operations at Bulari, Tori 1, 2 and 3 during which
they successfully cleared the general area of
remnants of Boko Haram terrorists.
During the operation, 10 terrorists were killed
and one was captured alive. Unfortunately, 2
Civilian JTF accompanying the troops lost their
lives. The troops rescued 7 civilians and
recovered a Volkswagen Golf car, 15 bicycles and
various bags of foodstuffs.
The troops of 22 Brigade on the other hand
intercepted 26 persons comprising mostly women
and children, coming towards Adah village in
Ngala Local Government Area of Borno State,
who on interrogation stated that they were held
hostage by Boko Haram terrorists, but escaped
as their captors were moving towards Lake Chad
general area because of troops presence.
Similarly, troops of the same Brigade carried out
a fighting patrol, cordon and search operation on
Thursday 21st April 2016, along Dikwa-Marte
road, Kaje, Selenge, Manekura, Mane Gana and
Gawayi villages. Although there wasn’t any
encounter with the terrorists, the troops
recovered 5 motorcycles, 6 Boko Haram terrorists
flags and 4 bags of grinded corn in Mane Gana
village.
They also rescued 3 women and 5 children at the
same village. The rescued persons told the
troops that their husbands were actually Boko
Haram terrorists who have ran away towards
Lake Chad area due to immense pressure from
the military clearance operations. On their part,
troops of 3 Battalion also conducted patrol
towards Diema, Sigel and Kala in which they had
an encounter with Boko Haram terrorists in
which the gallant troops killed 8 of them and
recovered 2 Dane Guns and 4 assorted batteries.
The troops of 7 Division Special Fighting Forces
attached to 25 Task Force Brigade Damboa, at a
checkpoint, arrested a suspected Boko Haram
terrorist, Abubakar Bello and 6 other suspects
carrying 28 gallons of “Turkey” brand of
vegetable oil, 8 bags of flour, 130 crates of soft
drinks and 2 bags of sugar.
In addition, 5 mobile telephone handsets, 1
external hard drive and 5 flash drives, 2 national
identity cards and the sum of Seventy Thousand
Naira (N70,000.00k) only were recovered from
him. Preliminary investigation discovered that
the terrorists now dilute the vegetable oil with
other substances to produce diesel to power
their generators.
The troops of 254 Task Force Battalion in
conjunction with vigilantes and Borno Youths
Empowerment Scheme (BOYES), also carried out
clearance operations at Mufurundi, Kaleri,
Masemari, Bego, Bale, Gadzama and Gagantilo
villages along Damboa-Bale-Gwoza road.
During the operation, the troops encountered and
detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED),
buried by the terrorists at Gadzama village. They
also encountered Boko Haram terrorists at Bego
where they engaged the terrorists, neutralized
them and cleared their camps within the general
area. In the encounter, the troops killed 9 Boko
Haram terrorists and recovered 1 AK-47 rifle with
registration number TH5712 and 17 rounds of
7.62mm (Special) ammunition. They also
rescued 157 persons held hostages by the
terrorists.
The troops of 26 Task Force Brigade stationed in
Gwoza yesterday also intercepted 8 suspected
Boko Haram terrorists, trying to enter Gwoza
town. Though they claimed to be farmers coming
from Shiadawey, Takwala and Amdaga Madachi
villages respectively, which were known terrorists
hideouts, preliminary investigations showed that
they were indeed terrorists on a recruitment
drive.
This was made manifest when the sum of Six
Hundred and Thirty Seven Thousand
(N637,000.00k) Naira was discovered on
Abdullahi Yakubu who was identified by another
escapee/suspected Boko Haram terrorist as
having trading links with the terrorists while the
others were confirmed to have participated in
carrying out various terrorists acts for the Boko
Haram terrorists group. Similarly, one Ibrahim
Bute aged 67 years, of Gobara village was
arrested by the troops on suspicion of being a
Boko Haram kingpin.
Troops of 114 Task Force Battalion of 28 Task
Force Brigade also conducted a fighting patrol
along Bitta-Madube-Izge axis same day. The
troops of 117 Task Force Battalion following a tip
off, also arrested a suspected Boko Haram
terrorist who gave his name as Bello Isah at
Mugulvu village. The unit also discovered and
retrieved 29 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) rounds
of ammunition hidden at a farm in Gella village.
The troops in various deployments within the
theatre remain vigilant with soaring morale and
committed to their duties of clearing the
remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists hiding in
various remote corners and crannies.

Nigeria, and I really feel for the people of this
country, who are going through this difficult
economic time,” she said.
“And I think this is something [about which] the

Power also said that the US government still
considers the rescue of the abducted Chibok

That is quite the request,
Tyga! The rapper loves to get down and
dirty with Kylie Jenner, but an insider
close to the pair revealed EXCLUSIVELY
to HollywoodLife.com that he’ll only
have sex with Kylie if she wears this!
Kylie Jenner , 18, must really love Tyga , 25, to do
this for him! While the rapper may love his
girlfriend, insider EXCLUSIVELY revealed
to HollywoodLife.com that Tyga will only get
intimate with Kylie if she wears a certain
something in the bedroom and it’s not

“Tyga only likes having sex with Kylie when she
is completely made up, that is what turns him on
when she has all of her makeup on,” an insider
revealed EXCLUSIVELY
to HollywoodLife.com . “He considers it the only
option when they have sex. No makeup, no sex.”
Seriously? However, that request may not
be fulfilled by Kylie any longer because she’s
determined to prove to Tyga she looks amazing
with caking on a ton of makeup!
The 18-year-old proved her point when she
snapped a selfie of herself at 8 a.m. on Sept.
30. Most people wouldn’t dare photograph
themselves right after waking up, but Kylie
didn’t seem to mind! She captioned it, “8am in
my closet.” Obviously snapping a pic that early
in the morning means not a drop of foundation
or makeup is on Kylie’s face. The Keeping Up

bare-faced pic is an awesome way for her to

going without makeup all the time, but she looks
good doing it !

Erin Andrews & Shay Mitchell
Take Over ‘Live’ For Kelly Ripa:
Will She Ever Come Back?
Uh oh! Kelly Ripa is going to
be missing from ‘Live’ for the rest of the
week following the blindsiding news
that Michael Strahan was leaving. To fill
the void, Shay Mitchell and Erin
Andrews will be stepping in. Will Kelly
ever come back? We have the answer,
right here.
Is Kelly Ripa, 45, ever coming back to Live ? She
was clearly fuming when she called in sick on
April 20 following the news that Michael Strahan,
44, was leaving the show , and now we know she
will be replaced by Erin Andrews , 37, and Shay
Mitchell, 29, for the rest of the week. We have
all the details, here.
Okay folks, calm down. Kelly will be missing
from Live for the rest of the week, but it’s not
as bad as it sounds. Deadline reports that she
had already planned to take time off on Friday
April 22 and Monday April 25 before she ever got
the news that Michael was abandoning the show
to become a permanent fixture on Good Morning
America.
She did, however, extend her time off to include
April 20 and 21, probably because she was so
raging mad at Michael . Now, he’s forced to do
the show without her for two extra days. Luckily
for him, he’ll have two amazing ladies to help
him out.
She will be hosting with
Michael on Thursday, and they had already
planned to shoot two shows that day so she will
co-host the Friday show too. Pretty Little Liars
star Shay will also be talking up her Freeform hit
when she stops by the studio to co-host on
Monday. They’re no Kelly, but we’re sure they’ll
do a great job.

have called in sick after Michael’s

Don’t let the iPhone SE’s retro look fool you—it’s a fantastic smartphone.
Don’t let the iPhone SE’s retro look
fool you—it’s a fantastic smartphone.
For nearly two weeks I’ve been using a
rose gold iPhone SE as my primary
phone. Not once during those two weeks
have I been asked if I was using the new
iPhone. In fact, whenever I pointed out
that it was indeed Apple’s latest
smartphone, I was met with a
beleaguered look, followed by: “When
did they announce that?”
Come September, when Apple
( AAPL 0.17% ) usually unveils its latest
and greatest iPhones, you can bet my
inbox is full of questions about new
features, pricing, and launch date. Not
this time.
In some regards, the lackluster reaction
to the iPhone SE—a smartphone that
looks identical to a device Apple
released over three years ago—is
expected. Apple is the largest technology
company in the world, one with
seemingly unlimited resources and a
sterling reputation for its design
prowess. The thought of it releasing an
iPhone with minimal external changes
seems disappointing, at least on the
surface, and news articles flirted with
calling the model a failure the moment
it launched.
But this iPhone wasn’t built for the
customers who line up in front of Apple
stores days in advance just to have the
latest model. The $399 iPhone SE was
built for people who continue to prefer
the smaller proportions of the iPhone 5S
or who simply seek a budget-friendly
smartphone. (The iPhone 6 starts at
$549 without contract; the 6S, $649.) An
atypical model for Apple? Absolutely.
But this break with convention makes
business sense.
For more, read: “ The New iPhone SE Is
More Nostalgic Than You Think”
Shortly after Apple announced the
iPhone SE, I had the chance to ask Phil
Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of
worldwide marketing, the meaning of
“SE” in the phone’s name, which
deviates slightly from its previous “S”
format. SE is an abbreviation for
“Special Edition,” Schiller said, a name
that, to him, recalled the Macintosh SE,
a computer the company released in the
late 1980s.
The nostalgia is well placed. The iPhone
SE is virtually indistinguishable from an
iPhone 5 but for a slight change in the
chamfered edges of the device, which
now have a matte finish. It’s available
in silver, gray, gold, and pink—that is,
“rose gold,” in Apple parlance.
LeEco's Latest Android Smartphones Beat Apple to Removing the Headphone Jack
LeEco's Latest Android Smartphones Beat Apple
to Removing the Headphone Jack
Apr 20, 2016 8:39 am.
Apple's intention to remove the 3.5mm
headphone jack from this year's iPhone 7 has
been a well-publicized rumor since last
November , with the widespread belief that the
company would use a Lightning port to provide
both charging and as a source for audio output
on 2016's iPhone. Today, however, Chinese
company LeEco announced a line of smartphones
that will beat Apple's rumored removal of the
3.5mm headphone port, instead opting for a USB-
C input (via Engadget).
LeEco also has its hands in product categories
like smart TVs and electric cars, with offices in
Los Angeles and Silicon Valley, but the company
keeps most of its smartphone business focused
locally in China. The new line of smartphones --
dubbed the Le 2, Le 2 Pro, and Le Max 2 -- will
run the Android operating system, and users will
be able to purchase either in-ear or over-ear
USB-C headphones to go with the new phones.
No specific plans were divulged, but LeEco noted
that it intends to bring "at least one" of the
devices stateside in 2016.
Image via Engadget
Similar to other Android devices like the Nexus 6P
and the Huawei Mate S, all three of LeEco's new
devices have a rear-facing fingerprint scanner to
allow access into the smartphone. Each version
has a slightly curved backside that flows into
chamfered edges and an edge-to-edge,
"borderless" display, all housed in a metallic body.
The Le 2 and Le 2 Pro are analogues of the
iPhone 6s Plus, featuring 5.5 inch, 1080p
displays, but coming in slightly above Apple's
2750 mAh battery at 3000 mAh. Understandably,
the Le 2 Pro stacks up better against the Le 2 in
a few categories: it has a 21-megapixel rear-
facing Sony IMX230 sensor and 4GB of RAM,
whereas the Le 2 packs a 16-megapixel rear-
facing camera and 3GB of RAM. The Le 2 will
cost 1,099 yuan ($170), while the Pro version will
run for 1,499 yuan ($230).
The Le Max 2 has a bigger screen than the other
two devices at 5.7 inches, and includes
Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 820 processor, a
more "advanced ultrasonic" fingerprint scanner,
and a bigger 3100 mAh battery. That's in addition
to optical image stabalization, increased storage
capacity options, and a total of 6GB of RAM. A
32GB storage option of the Le Max 2 (with a
lesser 4GB of RAM) will cost users 2,099 yuan
($325), while the increased storage of 64GB (and
6GB of RAM) will sell for 2,499 yuan ($390). Pre-
orders for all three smartphones began today in
China.
Although nothing has been confirmed this far out
from the iPhone 7 event, which will most likely
take place in September, recent rumors have
suggested Apple could ship Lightning-enabled
EarPods with the smartphone to ready users for a
new shift in headphone inputs. One report
suggested recently that the company might even
adopt Bluetooth-enabled headphones for the
iPhone 7 to free up the Lightning port when
listening to music, but still be able to charge the
wireless EarPods through the iPhone when they
run low on battery.

Ambiancé: The world's

Well, seven hours and 20 minutes to be precise.

More about: | Film | Ambiance |
Anders Weberg
We're not entirely sure why you'd need to
watch a seven-hour trailer in order to work
out whether you fancy seeing a film that lasts
for 30 days, but cancel your plans - one has
arrived.
Swedish director Anders Weberg has released
a second full-length trailer for his upcoming
experimental film Ambiancé and it runs for a
total of 439 minutes.
Weberg, who is also an artist, released a 72-
minute long teaser trailer last year. He
reportedly has an even bigger one due for
release in 2018 (mark your calendars now)
that will run for 72 hours.
The films to know about at
Cannes 2016
The abstract non-linear film features two
performance artists on a beach in
southern Sweden - and that's about it. There
are no cuts.
Described as a tale where “space and time is
intertwined into a surreal dream-like journey
beyond places," this film seems purely to
exist for the most dedicated film enthusiasts.
Will you sit through the finished product?
Ambiancé is released on December 31, 2020.
Apple is reportedly setting up a 'car lab' in Berlin
Apple is
reportedly
setting up a 'car
lab' in Berlin
ICAR / 19 APRIL 16
Apple is a company steeped in
secrecy, but perhaps nothing more
than its rumoured "iCar". Officially
dubbed Project Titan, the Cupertino
tech giant's plans to enter the electric
vehicle market are – seemingly –
moving ahead.
According to reports by Germany's
Frankfurter Allgemeine , Apple is to set
up a dedicated "car lab" in Berlin. The
facility is intended to tap into key
talent from the country's automotive
industry, with "15 to 20" researchers
on site to "tinker" with ideas.
The lab will also explore more
mundane aspects of bringing a car to
market, such as who Apple might
partner with in the country – a factor
that could impact Europe-wide
production or distribution – which
regulations would need to be adhered
to, and evaluating how far ahead its
competitors are.
Quite what the iCar will actually be
(an electric car, taking on Tesla? An
autonomous vehicle to rival Google's?
Or something inbetween?) remains a
mystery, although the company may
have ambitious plans, reportedly
looking for recruits who have been
held back in previous roles for ideas
that may have been seen as 'too
progressive'.
There's evidence to back this up, too.
Last Autumn, Apple appeared to go in
a hiring spree specifically targeting
specialists in the vehicle industry. As
reported by Reuters at the time,
significant figures included Jamie
Carlson; previously a senior engineer
at Tesla; Megan McClain, a
Volkswagon engineer focused on
automated vehicles; Vinay Palakkode,
a graduate researcher in automated
vehicles from Carnegie Mellon
University; and Xianqiao Tong, who
came from Nvidia after developing
computer vision software for driver
assistance systems.

FIND THOR'S WALLET, MEET THOR, GET
RICH. IT'S THAT SIMPLE.
If you ever find a wallet belonging to a
celebrity, return it immediately. Do not
wait. Do not swipe anything from it.
And definitely do NOT do anything as
nasty as leaking the contents to TMZ.
Just return the damn thing ASAP,
because chances are, amazing rewards
await you.
At least, that’s what happened to 17-
year-old Tristin Budzyn-Barker, who
found Chris Hemsworth ’s wallet after the
actor dropped it in a restaurant, and
returned it with everything still inside.
The two finally met each other on The
Ellen DeGeneres Show , where Chris gifted
Tristin the wad of cash in his wallet
(with a little extra included), as well as a
recommendation letter to help him
become an Eagle Scout. Sweetening the
deal even more, Ellen gave Tristin
$10,000 for college, which made Tristin’s
parents cry and which will surely remind
you that kindness really does pay off.
Literally .
JOHN LEGEND AND CHRISSY TEIGEN’S BABY’S NAME DEFINITELY ISN’T ‘TOO HOLLYWOOD’
WELCOME, BABY GIRL!
hrissy Teigen and John Legend
welcomed their first child, a baby
girl, on April 14. The proud father
announced the news via Twitter on
Sunday, adding that she “already has a
full head of hair.”
And while Luna Simone Stephens —
dad’s offstage name is John Stephens —
is a pretty name, Teigen previously
revealed there was some hesitation
about possible baby names when she
stopped by The Late Show in March. The
model and TV personality told host
Stephen Colbert she got approval from
President Obama , with the hopes that if
POTUS was on board with what we
assume is the name Luna, hubby John
would follow suit. The singer was
apparently on the fence because he
thought the name was “too
Hollywood.” (We’re guessing that’s a
reference to the Apple variety of baby
names.)
