Undergrad commits suicide in Anambra state

– Late student’s colleague says the incident happened because girlfriend was cheating on him
– Reports say he took in a poisonous substance said to be a sniper
Prosper, a 300-level student of the Anambra State University, (ANSU) has reportedly committed suicide.
The institution’s news portal, in a revelation, said the student committed suicide by drinking a poisonous substance said to be Sniper following a discovery that his girlfriend had been cheating on him.

The young man was also said to have sent a text message to the said girl, stating that he would be dead by the time she found him.

His room mate was quoted to have said: “Around 12:23am, we started hearing noise from him snoring heavily.
“At first we thought it was normal until it got unbearable. So we had to enter his room and found him lying on the floor.
“Then we started praying, after which we made arrangements for him to be taken to the hospital. Before then, we had already forced palm oil down his throat.
“So on getting to the nurse, she confirmed him dead. No be today dem begin dey get wahala. He usually complained that the girlfriend is giving him tough time.
“In fact, he used to cook and take to the girls lodge’ but it seemed the girl was cheating on him despite his love and care for her.
“He had earlier called the girlfriends’ best friend and asked her to take good care of his girlfriend for him. The death is a painful one.”
The student at the department of Library Science in the institution’s faculty of Education, was said to have committed the said act after consuming an insecticide.

Unity FM Jos noted on Friday, that the late student left a note which was found in her handbag.
